AMA has been
awarded an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) of the Cat-III Airfield
Lighting System at IGI Airport, New Delhi. As a benchmark contract,
AMA continues to set pioneering and reliability standards in Airfield
Lighting in India.
AMA has a team
of 45 persons including 5 engineers to carry out the maintenance
on a 24 hour basis. The team is equipped with state-of-the-art tools
and safety equipment including pneumatic torque wrenches, drills
and blowers to clean the inset lights. Since the 2,811 lights are
spread out over 2 runways and 59 circuits, AMA has three jeeps to
ensure rapid access to work sites. Quality service is delivered
by qualified personnel who have been extensively trained.
AMA technicians
follow a strict maintenance schedule to ensure 100% serviceability
of lights in each circuit. The schedule includes daily checking
and changing of all fused lamps, checking tightness of bolts of
all inset lights and frequent cleaning of inset lights, transformer
housing boxes and Constant Current Regulators (CCRs). AMA also maintains
the ICAO compliant Mandatory and Information Airfield Signage.
Given India's
heavy monsoon season, critical pre-monsoon and post-monsoon maintenance
is also carried out.
